Lake Powell is a special place for Keaten and Mattson, so when they decided to get married, they knew they had to incorporate it somehow into their wedding plans. This was the perfect idea – let’s do an adventurous bridal session!
The first stop of the day was horseshoe bend. We got an early start to beat the crowds as we walked the ¾ of a mile to the iconic overlook. Being there, it felt so surreal looking over the cliffside and seeing this picture perfect view in the canyon below. We captured their love amongst the deep red rocks as her dress draped over the cliffside.
Next stop: The boat. Keaten and Mattson envisioned taking photos through the narrow canyons on different rock formations throughout Lake Powell. The only way to reach these various destinations was by speed boat. When we arrived on site, we were met with a golf cart, prepared to pick us up and take us down to the boat docks. Keaten’s family greeted us onboard when we made it into the harbor. We spent the next few hours traveling through rock canyons and climbing up sandstone formations to capture some of the most beautiful moments. The white dress against the red rock with the turquoise blue water made a stunning statement. As our time came to a close, we traveled back to the harbor, wind blowing in our hair and smiles on all of our faces – we’d call that a successful day.
